How Parents Can Help With SchoolYou can help your children's school do a better job if you:
- Communicate often with the teacher.
- Attend parent conferences.
- Attend school events.
- Know what your child is studying.
- Ask your children to talk about their school day. If it's important to you, it becomes important to them. •
- Make sure your child attends school regularly.
- Be sure your child gets to school on time.
- TURN THE TV OFF! Make watching TV a special event; too many children spend too many hours watching television. Limit and know what they are watching!
- If your children have subjects they are enthusiastic about, let them teach you something about those areas of knowledge.
- Recognize Achievements
A child who receives recognition for academic achievement is much more likely to want to excel in school.- Volunteer!
Parents need to be involved, interested, and concerned. This shows your child that you care about school and learning. The more we work together, the more we'll help our children.
